Fruit From the Planted Baby

What kind of example are we setting for those little ones around us who are so eager to grow up and be just like us? Perhaps, they can teach us somethings we've forgotten...

What I Have Learned as I’ve Matured…  Don’t Be In Such a Hurry to Grow Up.

Why?

Children deal well with their fears…

They admit them.

Children deal well with their problems…

They ask for help.

Children deal well with their pain…

They cry.

Children deal well with their tension…

They play.

Children deal well with their uncertainty…

They ask questions.

Children deal well with their vulnerability…

They accept help.

Children deal well with their weaknesses…

They rely on those stronger than they.

Children deal well with their dreams…

They follow them.

If only KIDS knew what NOT to change

and

If only I could learn to be a kid again.

What Happened?

Joy

Joy

I hurt, and at times I’m quite unhappy with God’s will for my life.  I will not lie.  It’s not like He doesn’t already know the things I wish weren’t so… But Happiness and Joy are not in and of the same. They are very different, indeed.  Happiness is based on happenstance and is fleeting. It’s circumstantial, at best. Joy is a Fruit of the Spirit, and it grows in the fertile ground of ashes.   It flourishes in the showers of the abundance of tears rained upon it.  It bears the bloom of peace in the most hostile climates, and it’s roots are ever gripped and clinging to the ONLY LOVE that Saves!  I once heard it said that Joy is “Peace, dancing.”  It takes the absence of happiness to sometimes be aware of the fullness of Joy.  I may be happy tomorrow, and if I am, so I’ll be… But if by happenstance I should not feel the airy lightheartedness of happiness… I will still have the fullness of Joy, and with that God will have again turned my mourning into dancing.

Oh, how I love and need Jesus every moment of every hour of every day… And I may not feel happy all the time, but I am His forever!!! This so sweet to trust in Jesus!

” I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”

“Even if I crash down and burn out, at least I’m gonna know what it’s like to feel alive!” Can’t remember who sings that! Here are some more “FREE SPIRIT” photos… Enjoy.

The “Why” Factor

Only Lucy could get me to look at the crack of dawn with a semi-smile on my face. It was a bright golden Lucy morning. God new I needed her this week.

When wrestling with affliction there is no way to grasp or truly comprehend the “Why” factor. Yet, in the throws of pain and the anguish of night after night, turning into week after week, becoming month after month… and then to our horror and heartbreaking disappointment, months become years… We are still plagued with the question as great as our illness. Why? Continue reading

A lot of us, for various reasons, could really use a “Warm Fuzzy” today… Here you go.

I pretty much never get tired of watching / listening to these guys. The acoustics on this live recording are amazing! Thank you, Danny Vasquez for introducing me to both Local Natives and La Blogotheque. This is just rad music. Enjoy. Check out the girl at the end. She’s so cute singing it! Love it.

One Thousand Dreams – Hand and Feet Project – Inspirational video shot in Jacmel, Haiti, with the children of the Hands and Feet Project. Every child dreams of a loving family and a hope for the future. Help the Hands and Feet Project make dreams come true.

If everyone helped, there wouldn’t be a lack. Give from a place of humility, because you had nothing to do with what country you were born in and to which family you were born. By the same token, don’t rip things out of others hands and think it’s your right to to distribute their things. Its not. Let every man be accountable before God for his own choices. We can encourage, but we don’t own one another. The minute I decide I own the right to your pocket book, or vote that the government should take it, I have either taken you into slavery, or sold you. Let’s each be accountable to one another in brotherly love, esteeming one another as better than the other… not selling one another off. Let’s not think that we are giving out of the goodness of our own hearts, but rather, we are giving because of the great goodness our God has demonstrated towards us, and has put it within our hearts to do. For HE alone is good, and He is the giver of all good things. Let’s be imitators of Him, and we love Him because He first loved us and taught us to love. He also said that pure and undefiled religion is to visit widows and orphans in their distress. Let’s follow Him. He’s given ample instruction. If we heed, we will bear much fruit, and it will bring Him glory, because for myself, I know what I am outside of Christ… I am a loser. Thankfully, I’ve been saved and found in Him. Glory! ~ Amie Wylie
