When wrestling with affliction there is no way to grasp or truly comprehend the “Why” factor. Yet, in the throws of pain and the anguish of night after night, turning into week after week, becoming month after month… and then to our horror and heartbreaking disappointment, months become years… We are still plagued with the question as great as our illness. Why? Continue reading
Expecting a trouble-free life because you are a good person is like expecting the bull not to charge you because you are a vegetarian.

Yes, that would be my elbow pointing at you. Only slight more disturbing than it looked was how it felt… Continue reading
When God calls us to something, should we anticipate complete tranquility and peace of mind, or should we anticipate opposition, warfare, and peace that will and must surpass our understanding?
It is beyond my knowledge what God holds for me. But if I knew, would I then be holding my own life, or would He?
Do I question what is right, because it doesn’t feel right? Yet, it doesn’t feel right because I face opposition. Isn’t opposition a sign that one is living on the battlefield rather than in the dugouts or on the sidelines?
Then… in all of this GRACE brings me back to my knees, the cycle repeats itself, and I realize, this IS God’s will. Continue reading

What pulls on your heart strings? Is there a point at in your own mind where you draw the line and say, “This is far enough!” when it comes to the injustice you’ll not tolerate? Maybe like many, as long as it’s out of sight, it’s out of mind? I know it’s been that way for me, and is that way for me much of the time. There is a balance. Surely, it would be senselessness to scold someone for enjoying their life that they’ve worked hard for, simply because someone else was less fortunate than they. However, like I said, there is a balance. If we are doing nothing… then we are fruitless. What good is a fruitless tree? It’s not even beautiful in the seasons of change. It’s fruitless. It’s useless. Let us not be fruitless and useless people. Everyone has something to contribute. It may not be through financial means… It may be through words of encouragement… It may be offering your time… offering your services… lending a hand… praying… staying behind to take care of someone’s things so that they can travel to help others… The list of means in which to help is as vast as humans are uniquely individual. God knows our hearts. He knows what we have and what we lack. He knows what we can give and what we cannot. He knows us better than we know ourselves. It may be that we are lead to give out of our own need. Do it. You cannot out give God! That is an area you can test Him in… Not by means of selfish profit, but if you lack faith… test to see if God will not return what you’ve given and return MORE. Open up your heart and mind to availing yourself to serving Him in the way that HE calls you. Not the way that everyone else is telling you it needs to be done… But the way that HE leads your heart. God is authentic, and as unique as He’s created each individual’s fingerprint is as unique of a relationship He desires with You. You serve God by serving others. Here we have a story in the Bible about when we come to be in heaven and we are in the Final Judgement before God. This is how Jesus Christ says it will play out…
In the Bible – Matthew 25: 31-46 (NLT – Biblegateway.com)
“But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit upon his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered in his presence, and he will separate the people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will place the sheep at his right hand and the goats at his left.
34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. 36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’
37 “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? 39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’
41 “Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons. 42 For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink. 43 I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite me into your home. I was naked, and you didn’t give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’
44 “Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’
45 “And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’
46 “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.”
