What Happened?

Joy

Joy

I hurt, and at times I’m quite unhappy with God’s will for my life.  I will not lie.  It’s not like He doesn’t already know the things I wish weren’t so… But Happiness and Joy are not in and of the same. They are very different, indeed.  Happiness is based on happenstance and is fleeting. It’s circumstantial, at best. Joy is a Fruit of the Spirit, and it grows in the fertile ground of ashes.   It flourishes in the showers of the abundance of tears rained upon it.  It bears the bloom of peace in the most hostile climates, and it’s roots are ever gripped and clinging to the ONLY LOVE that Saves!  I once heard it said that Joy is “Peace, dancing.”  It takes the absence of happiness to sometimes be aware of the fullness of Joy.  I may be happy tomorrow, and if I am, so I’ll be… But if by happenstance I should not feel the airy lightheartedness of happiness… I will still have the fullness of Joy, and with that God will have again turned my mourning into dancing.

Oh, how I love and need Jesus every moment of every hour of every day… And I may not feel happy all the time, but I am His forever!!! This so sweet to trust in Jesus!

” I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”

JACMEL, HAITI – Audio Adrenaline Kings and Queens

What pulls on your heart strings?  Is there a point at in your own mind where you draw the line and say, “This is far enough!” when it comes to the injustice you’ll not tolerate?  Maybe like many, as long as it’s out of sight, it’s out of mind?  I know it’s been that way for me, and is that way for me much of the time.  There is a balance.  Surely, it would be senselessness to scold someone for enjoying their life that they’ve worked hard for, simply because someone else was less fortunate than they.  However, like I said, there is a balance.  If we are doing nothing… then we are fruitless.  What good is a fruitless tree?  It’s not even beautiful in the seasons of change.  It’s fruitless.  It’s useless.  Let us not be fruitless and useless people.  Everyone has something to contribute.  It may not be through financial means… It may be through words of encouragement… It may be offering your time… offering your services… lending a hand… praying… staying behind to take care of someone’s things so that they can travel to help others… The list of means in which to help is as vast as humans are uniquely individual.  God knows our hearts.  He knows what we have and what we lack.  He knows what we can give and what we cannot.  He knows us better than we know ourselves.  It may be that we are lead to give out of our own need.  Do it.  You cannot out give God!  That is an area you can test Him in… Not by means of selfish profit, but if you lack faith… test to see if God will not return what you’ve given and return MORE.  Open up your heart and mind to availing yourself to serving Him in the way that HE calls you.  Not the way that everyone else is telling you it needs to be done… But the way that HE leads your heart.  God is authentic, and as unique as He’s created each individual’s fingerprint is as unique of a relationship He desires with You.  You serve God by serving others.  Here we have a story in the Bible about when we come to be in heaven and we are in the Final Judgement before God.  This is how Jesus Christ says it will play out…

In the Bible – Matthew 25: 31-46 (NLT – Biblegateway.com)

“But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit upon his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered in his presence, and he will separate the people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will place the sheep at his right hand and the goats at his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. 36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’

37 “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? 39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’

40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

41 “Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons.  42 For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink. 43 I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite me into your home. I was naked, and you didn’t give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’

44 “Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’

45 “And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’

46 “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.”

So, I encourage you to check out this RAD video from Audio Adrenaline/Hands & Feet Project! It was filmed on location in Jacmel – Hands & Feet Orphanage and Church on the Beach. We are blessed to be serving alongside of Hands & Feet Project. This is a ministry worthy of your attention and support. You know we (Tim and I) have a heart for Haiti and the entire world, but maybe God’s directing your heart elsewhere… (Not from the entire world 😉 but from Haiti). That’s wonderful.  My desire is just to stir you up and spur you on to good works.  I want to encourage you to get moving and be about doing the work of the Lord.  Many Blessings to you all!

A Picture’s Worth A Thousand Words

A Picture's Worth A Thousand Words

“Right about the time I start thinking God must tire of me, I see these little characters He’s created that I never grow weary of, and in a thousand words I could not describe one minute of their lives. I never bore of their constant presence and how accustom they’ve become to depend on my resources (which are God’s)… And I’m reminded… God says that I’m worth more than many sparrows. I tire of myself, but I do not think God grows weary of me. I think my greatest enemy would stop at nothing to keep me fearing that my God is against me and looks on me with distain and dissatisfaction… But my God will not allow that either. My God is Love… Perfect Love… and Perfect Love casts out fear.”
